PS3 sales fall

April 5, 2007

Playstation 3 sales plumett according to the Guardian in the 2nd week of launch.

The PS3 is late to market – a golden rule of commerce.  Xbox 360 got there first.

Another point is the price – it’s must expensive than the Nintendo Wii which has it’s small piece of the market cornered with the likes of Mario.

But more importantly, it’s only a wee bit better than the old PS2, visually anyway.  The games are the same old gameplay.  PCs show they are best at doing the high-quality rendered stuff and if you don’t want one of them, Xbox 360 works out as a PC alternative.

Are Sony suffering from big organisation syndrome?  EG where they moved too slowly too late.

Blu-ray within the PS3 is it’s saving grace, but there are very few HD movies available.

Stay tuned for the PS3 progress….
